When it came to designing my own racing helmet I opted to go with my favourite colour palette of orange, black and white. The abstract design was created in Illustrator (see below) in three key layers. Firstly, the distinctive blocks of orange and white colour over a black background. Next, the design was given depth by adding a layer of white shading before finally a set of pinstripe white lines finished the design by adding some intricate detail. I've since designed helmets for fellow competitors that have gone on to be painted and raced all across the UK.
